There’s a good deal of money to be obtained this week on DraftKings including a top prize of $25k in the primary tournament. DK also has lots of Qualifier competitions on this week, where the last event will pay $50k into 1st for those who did qualify to perform in it. I will be chasing those as well because we have never had a $50k 1st place prize and I need it. We did have one fight fall off but we still have a 13-fight card. This is a superb card to build your bankroll to get the very first Sunday of NFL so you can pursue that $1M.
Cash Game play of the week — Zabit Magomedsharipov ($9,400)
Zabit is going to be super chalky in championship. Everyone who’d Shevchenko in their lineup is going to switch to Zabit and he will probably be the most owned fighter around the slate. In money games we don’t care about ownership as much and I am going to be starting my money team with Zabit. I believe he’s the easiest win on the card and he has the highest ceiling as well. I believe if you want to get sneaky and not utilize Zabit, the GPPs would be the place to do this. Lock him in money and choose the win. Then you only need to find about 3 additional wins and you should possess a winning cash group.
GPP play of this week — Alex White ($8,600)
I think Jim Miller is near the end of his career and I am thinking this will be the last time we see him in the UFC. I think he’s going to be given his 5th loss in a row here and I’m guessing it will be via knockout. I believe Alex White is going to be too strong and quick for Jim Miller at this phase in his career and I believe he is going to be able to keep this battle on the feet. With everyone paying up for Zabit in GPPs, Alex White and some other mid-range favorites could be a good way to go to make your lineups more contrarian and try to find 1st place in a GPP that way. I really do like White a good bit in this struggle and I think he has 100+ point potential at a $8.6additional salary. For that reason, he is my GPP drama of this week.
Underdog drama of the week — Diego Sanchez ($7,300)
Diego Sanchez is my underdog play of the week because I don’t think Craig White isn’t any good. Sanchez may be completely taken, and if that is the situation he can get KO’d early. But I really don’t think Craig White should be -200 contrary to any UFC fighter. Diego is cheap enough where it lets you find a number of the higher favorites you like in your lineup, and I believe he can get a decision win here. He’ll be my pick to win, but it’s not a certain pick and I believe he makes for a much better GPP play than cash punt.
Fade of this week — Aljamain Sterling ($8,500)
I’m looking forward to watching this fight and I will be picking Aljo for the win here. My issue is that I don’t think he is very likely to score highly, and perhaps not even 10x his wages. I believe a whole lot of this fight will take place on the feet and Aljo doesn’t throw in a high enough pace to score well in a striking match. He’ll need to get this fight to the ground several times and stand up some advance points for him to score tremendously. I don’t see this happening. I believe this is going to be a very close fight and I’d rather just cover some of the fighters over Sterling. I believe we would be taking a look at a score around 70-75 DK points using an Aljo decision win here.
